Following WWII, the polish government wanted to revamp the image of the circus in a modern fashion, and show off the arts and culture that were government sponsored at the time. I like this poster because it\u00a0is a lively expression of circus shown in bright colors and smiles. It can be identified quickly from afar, and Im sure its colorful spirit was helpful on fences covering buildings damaged during\u00a0the war.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/001grid_system.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-17\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/001grid_system-224x300.png\" alt=\"001grid_system\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/001grid_system-224x300.png 224w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/001grid_system-764x1024.png 764w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/001grid_system.png 957w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here I have outlined some of the underlining composition. The form of the performers arms, legs, and faces fit these guides very well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/negative_space.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-21\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/negative_space-207x300.png\" alt=\"negative_space\" width=\"207\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/negative_space-207x300.png 207w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/negative_space-706x1024.png 706w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/negative_space.png 765w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 207px) 100vw, 207px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this copy I have substituted\u00a0the negative space with neutral grey. The cut-out style of the illustration makes for heavy contrast between the negative space and the other elements of the poster.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hierarchy.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-20\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hierarchy-207x300.png\" alt=\"hierarchy\" width=\"207\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hierarchy-207x300.png 207w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hierarchy-706x1024.png 706w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hierarchy.png 765w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 207px) 100vw, 207px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To me the hierarchy in this work begins with the smiling expressions of the performers, followed by the &#8216;Cyrk&#8217; text (circus in Polish).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/7colors.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-23\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/7colors-207x300.png\" alt=\"7colors\" width=\"207\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/7colors-207x300.png 207w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/7colors-706x1024.png 706w, http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/7colors.png 765w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 207px) 100vw, 207px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The seven vibrant colors used are a great representation of the subject matter, and successfully draw the viewer into a fun scene from afar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-08-at-12.13.15-PM-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aaronparsekian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-08-at-12.13.15-PM-copy.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-09-08 at 12.13.15 PM copy\" width=\"126\" height=\"97\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the single font used in this poster is a tough one to pinpoint. It has been heavily compressed and manipulated.
